An Update

I took a month long unannounced break from blogging. It wasn’t really for any one particular reason but a slew of things in my personal life and of course, on a global scale.

It’s no secret, everything’s different now. Everything’s harder, the loneliness, the stress, the anger and what makes it even weirder is that everyone’s going through the same thing. It started to make me feel like what I was doing here was insignificant when so much more is happening in the world. But after talking to a few people, I realized that while this can be seen as insignificant, if it brings joy or let’s you escape for even a few moments, then that’s significant to me.

I didn’t want you all to feel like I was pushing inessential products at a time when a good amount of us are struggling to figure out life right now, so I didn’t bother. Everything I had planned was pushed to the side because I’m with you, I’m also trying to figure it all out. But working on this blog is what’s kept me going and I want to continue doing it. After asking some people, I’ve found that a lot of you want and need it too, because it is that escape and because it does make you feel like things are normal, if even for a moment.

So I’m going to try to make a few changes. I’ve focused a lot on luxury products because that’s what I’ve known during my time as a beauty editor but as of late, I’ve definitely been dipping into many more cost-effective drug store brands that I’m really falling in love with and would love to introduce to you and starting in May, I will be implementing two new ideas: Sheet Mask Saturday and Sample Bag Sunday. I’ll give a more in depth description of each on May 2nd and 9th but generally I’ll be dipping into my sheet mask and sample hoards to bring you quick reviews, show you affordable sheet mask options and hopefully inspire you to use those samples for a bit of self care.

Here’s to many more adventures in beauty and lifestyle in 2020.

XO Sarah
