7 Fun Fall Reads to Get You in the Season

There’s something about fall and winter that gets me into the reading mood. Just the thought of getting cozy under some blankets with a hot mug of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whatever tickles your fancy and some yummy dessert. Here are a few books your should read this fall, I know I’ll be reading them.

Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky
You may know Chbosky from his bestselling novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower and if you do, then you know that that Perks is completely different from Imaginary Friend and omg am I excited for it. It follows Kate, her 7 year old son and his imaginary friend through their battle between good and evil.

An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena
Ok, I love this book. I read another of Lapena’s books last year and was enthralled and this book was no different. I read it in the middle of summer but it transported me to a chilly world full of murder and mystery. I’m keen on reading it again just so I can actually curl up with a warm drink and candles.

Yes Please by Amy Poehler
I read this book back when it came out in 2014 and it’s really stayed with me. Amy Poehler is such an inspiration to creatives, especially women so hearing her words of advice and the trials she had to go through to get to where she is was truly awesome. Perfect for getting me in the right mindset as 2019 comes to a close and 2020 draws nearer.

You by Caroline Kepnes
The inspiration behind Netflix’s (previously Lifetime’s) hit show of the same name, this book is the perfect mix of romance and suspense (if you’ve read the book, don’t judge me by my use of “romantic” lol). I highly suggest both the book and show for fall because it’s got major spooky/autumn New York vibes.

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks
This graphic novel looks and sounds soooo cute. It’s about a couple of friends that work together at an awesome pumpkin patch in the midwest. Rainbow Rowell has been a little hit and miss with me but the hits have really hit.

Wilder Girls by Rory Power
First, the cover for this book is G O R G E O U S and instantly drew me in. My friend gave it a five star rating and said it was full of intrigue, mystery and gore 🙂 sounds right up my autumnal alley.
The Paper Wasp by Lauren Acampora
I’m a sucker for stories of dark and twisted relationships (in this case, friendship) and I’m especially a sucker for stories that take place in LA, with a hint of Hollywood glamour. Also, this cover definitely caught my eye the second I saw it.

Now head to your local bookstore or Target and grab yourself one of these books and a warm pumpkin spice latte and engulf yourself in a new world this fall.

Happy Reading!

xx
